Concrete Care

Extend the life of your handcrafted concrete products with expert care instructions tailored for every piece we make.

At Concrete Kreation, every product is meticulously handcrafted using high-quality concrete blends. Concrete, by nature, is durable and timeless — but it also responds to its environment. With proper care, your concrete pieces will maintain their beauty and integrity for years. This guide provides comprehensive instructions for maintaining and preserving our concrete jars, lighting products, and architectural pieces.

General Concrete Care Tips

These best practices apply to all our concrete products:

  • Clean with a soft, damp cloth and mild, pH-neutral soap.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, oils, and harsh chemicals.
  • Do not use abrasive pads, bleach, or acidic cleaners (like vinegar).
  • Wipe up spills immediately, especially if they are oily or acidic (e.g., citrus, wine).
  • Avoid placing products in dishwashers, ovens, or microwaves unless specified.
  • Use on dry, stable surfaces to prevent breakage or staining.
  • For outdoor products, ensure adequate drainage to avoid water pooling.

Concrete Lighting Care

Ideal for: Indoor pendant lights, outdoor pathway lights, wall sconces, and table lamps.

Indoor Lights:

  • Dust regularly using a dry microfiber cloth.
  • For stains or smudges, gently wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap.
  • Avoid direct water contact with the bulb socket or any internal parts.
  • Do not use ammonia-based glass cleaners on or near concrete surfaces.

Outdoor Lights:

  • Clean every 1–2 months, especially after rain or dust storms.
  • Use a soft brush to remove dirt or debris from textured surfaces.
  • Re-seal after 4-5 years using a UV-resistant, breathable concrete sealer to preserve finish and color.
  • Avoid power washing — use low-pressure hose rinsing only.
  • Inspect electrical components and replace damaged wiring promptly.

General Lighting Tips:

  • Always unplug or disconnect power before cleaning or maintaining.
  • Allow concrete to cool completely before handling if lights have been on for a long time.
